    SHAO RUILU

DO NOT BE AFRAID OF LIFE OR DEATH, YOU HAVE ALREADY SEEN A LOT

    CURATED BY WANG YAN

Shao Ruilu’s works combine various creation techniques – photography, drawing, animation, video, installation, etc. Her works often sublate and criticize the Ready Made Art - a technique where objects that are taken from the artist’s environment are used to create an art work. In Shao’s processes of creation, her personal experience as an individual artist is well hidden but often not the process of choosing the ready-made, and therefore her works show significant challenges to the traditional art and aesthetics. At the same time, Shao Ruilu conducts in-depth study on the phenomenon in which obvious facts meet social silence, and further discusses globally deeper topics with diversified creation methods.
