Jimei × Arles Discovery Award
The 2021 nominees are Liu Yue , Cedar Zhou , Zong Ning , Wang Yimo, Xu Guanyu , Amiko Li, Tao Hui , Tant Zhong , Guo Guozhu , Zou BiyuEvery year, the Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival invites five curators to nominate ten talented ethnically Chinese photographers. All ten photographers present solo shows at the festival, and the winner is announced during the opening week. The winner receives a 100,000 RMB (pre-tax) cash prize and an invitation to present a solo show at Les Rencontres d’ Arles the following year. Past winners of the Jimei x Arles Discovery Award include Sim Chi Yin (2020), Yi Lian (2019), Lei Lei (2018), Feng Li (2017), Silin Liu (2016), and Zhu Lanqing (2015).

THREE SHADOWS PHOTOGRAPHY ART CENTRE AND CHANEL CO-HOST THE CURATORIAL AWARD FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND MOVING IMAGE FINALIST EXHIBITION The Curatorial Award for Photography and Moving Image at Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival, jointly launched by the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre and CHANEL in October 2021, aims to support young creative forces in photography and moving image art and to discover and nurture outstanding young Chinese curators and researchers working with these mediums.

This year, the Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival collaborates with vivo VISION+ in presenting "Our Moments, Create Together," which showcases mobile phone photographs taken by Martin Parr, Xiao Quan, and other artists, as well as outstanding submissions to the VISION+ project.
The exhibition explores the possibilities of the mobile phone as a new medium in photography, the meaning of those moments in life that force us to stop and observe,
and photography’s return to its documentary roots.
