    THE MAP OF TIDES

     

    Xing Lei just won the Judges' Choice Gold Award in the Humanities Documentary category of the FUJIFILM 90th Anniversary Street Fighter Challenge. This series of works spans a period of 10 years. The Map of Tides originates from the self-emotional healing and exploration journey after the death of a loved one, showing the changes in the author's inner world during the journey.

    Xing Lei, born in 1991, now lives and works in Nanjing. Freelance photographer, works scattered in South Wind window, New weekly, Life monthly, ZiWU Shiya, etc.
     
    His solo exhibitions include Gravity and Light (OrigiNature, Chengdu, 2020), The Secret is Flower (LowLowland, Guangzhou, 2022), Golden  Slumbers - Xing Lei Photography Exhibition (Toku Park, Nanjing, 2023), etc. Participated in group exhibitions "Daydream" Group Exhibition (Paris Asian Art Fair, Paris, 2019), "Only What I See" (Special edition Project, SHANGHAI, 2023), "Tide" (PHOTOFAIRS SHANGHAI, Shanghai, 2019) 2024), "Return -- Folds of Time" (Chongqing, 2024), "Multi-Exposure: New Narrative in Photography" (Shanghai, 2024), etc. The current photography book Tide is published by AKAAKA, Japan.
     
    Among the honors that Xing Lei and his works have received are the Gold Medal of Fujifilm 90th Anniversary Street Fighter Challenge (2024) and the first collection. Photography in Contemporary Award (2023), Chinese Contemporary top20 Photographer Award (2015), Color and shadow without taboo. New Talent Award (2014) and the Best New Talent Award of the Fifth Jinan International Biennale in 2014.
